‘Awards Don’t Define Us!’ – Clarence Peters Joins ‘Team Bash Headies 2016’
Popular video director, Clarence Peters, has joined the growing list of entertainers with one complaint or the other against the Headies 2016 awards nominees list.
Singers, Tekno, Solidstar and rapper, Yung6ix are among those who have complained bitterly about some of the organiser’s selections. Clarence Peters, who actually got a nomination in the ‘best music video‘ category with Falz’s SOLDIER video has now expressed dismay at the omission of a couple of his colleagues who he believes did some amazing jobs within the period under review.
He posted on his Instagram, “In a year when these men gave us some of the most amazing visual interpretations, mainly: Dare’s “Pray for me” by @mexemania & Kiss Daniels’”Jombo” by @ajefilmswork works, respectfully, it breaks my heart that the headies don’t deem it feet to recognize their out standing work. To my brothers, from Dir Q,to @adasacookey to Frizzle&Bizzle, from Gambit to LA,from Matt Max to Avalon to TOSIN IGHO,SESAN to MOE to MEJI etc. We know what we put in,awards don’t define us,WE DEFINE POPULAR CULTURE not just in Nigeria, but across the continent, so I salute u all.”
